<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope, capable of preventing damage due to careless handling. SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises an endoscope body, and a peripheral unit connected to the endoscope body to constitute a part of the endoscope system. The endoscope body has a connector detachable from the peripheral unit, a flexible regulating mechanism for regulating the hardness of an inserting part flexible tube, and a switching mechanism which can operate the regulating mechanism in a state in which the switching mechanism is connected to the peripheral unit via the connector, which does not enable the operation of the regulating mechanism in a non-connected state and which holds the flexible tube in the most flexible state.</p> |
