The yarns (2) are stretched past a sensor (4) for generating an electric signal representing the tension in the yarns whilst they are still and whilst they are being moved from one position to another. The signal is supplied to an electronic circuit (6) in order to generate a first signal representing yarn tension, irrespective of whether the yarns are moving or stationary, as well as at least one additional signal representing yarn movement and optionally other signals representing additional parameters. The electronic circuit generates an error signal if one or more pre-determined deviations in these signals arise. |
