PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to improve the viewing angle by compensating the difference of retardation values according to the path by using compensating films fixed with discotic liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes first and second insulating substrates(10,11) facing to each other, first and second compensating films(30,31) attached to outer surface of the first and second substrates, first and second hybrid discotic liquid crystal(50) fixed to the first and second compensating films, first and second polarizing plates(40,41) attached to the first and second compensating films, and nematic liquid crystal(20) injected between the first and second substrates, wherein a retardation value in surfaces of the first and second compensating films is 30nm or higher. |
