PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver having a detachable storage medium is provided to attach a separate media box to a set-top-box receiving audio and video signals only when recording of a broadcasting program is required. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver having a detachable storage medium includes a digital TV set-top-box(100) and a media box(200) detachably attached to the set-top-box. The set-top-box includes an NTSC demodulator(102) for converting an intermediate frequency signal of an NTSC broadcasting tuner(101) into a digital video signal, an NTSC decoder(103), and a VBS demodulator(105) for converting an intermediate frequency signal of a ground wave ATSC broadcasting tuner(104) into digital TP data. The set-top-box further includes a VBS decoder(106), a media box controller(107) for transmitting the output signal of the NTSC decoder or VBS decoder to an MPEG decoder(108) or the media box according to control signals, a multiplexer(109) for connecting a system bus to the media bus according to a control signal, and a host CPU(110) for executing programs stored in ROM(111) to generate the control signals. |
