PURPOSE: A public auction service system and method is provided to enable a user to participate in a public auction, and to sell or purchase assets at the public auction over the internet as well as at a real world public auction place. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of registering a public bid notification at a public auction server(S100), enabling a user to access the public auction server, to search for the public bid notification, to construct an electronic bid document and to tender a bid while paying a bid deposit(S200), checking the bid deposit if the online bid process is closed(S300), inputting the documents, submitted at a real public auction place, at an internet public auction system(S400), determining a successful bidder by executing a successful bidder selection program, transferring the bid deposit of the successful bidder to an account of a customer, and returning the bid deposit of unsuccessful bidders to accounts of themselves(S500), and enabling the public auction server to automatically transmit the bid result data to an infra system, and the infra system to arrange bid specifications for each object number and to automatically make a bid result report(S600).
