PURPOSE: A method of operating a QPCH(Quick Paging CHannel) using multi paging encoder queues is provided to have many paging message encoder queues, and to operate a configuration time of paging messages in advance, thereby increasing standby time by reducing paging channel slot monitoring time in a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: When a BCP(Base station Control Processor) transmits a paging message to a CC(Channel Card)(S41), the CC decides whether the paging message is a slotted message or a non slotted message(S43). If the message is the non slotted message, the CC configures the paging message and transmits the message to a mobile station without reporting the message to a QPCH(S45-S49). If the message is the slotted message, the CC configures the paging message before encoding the message(S53), and reports the message to the QPCH(S55). The paging message is not lost by multi encoder queues, and is encoded in the encoder queues(S57), to be transmitted to the mobile station(S59).
