CELLULAR PHONE HAVING IMPROVED RECEIVING SENSITIVITY AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A cellular phone having an improved receiving sensitivity is provided to enable a receiving in an area having a weak radio receiving sensitivity, thereby supplying the improved cellular phone with superior speech quality. CONSTITUTION: When an amplified RF signal is received through a main LNA(Low Noise Amplifier)(102), a supplementary LNA(105) amplifies the RF signal to a predetermined level, and transmits the RF signal to a mixer(103). An MSM(Mobile Station Modem)(106) detects a power level of a receiving signal passing through an IF circuit(104). When the detected level is more than a set level, the MSM(106) outputs the first switching control signal. When the detected level is less than the set level, the MSM(106) outputs the second switching control signal. When the first switching control signal is received, a switch(107) connects the main LNA(102) with the mixer(103). When the second switching control signal is received, the switch(107) connects the main LNA(102) with the supplementary LNA(105).
