PURPOSE: A dielectric duplexer and a communication apparatus are provided to achieve a simple structure having improved attenuation characteristics by reducing the excitation of undesirable modes in which a wave propagates between filters. CONSTITUTION: A substantially-rectangular-parallelepiped-shaped dielectric block(1) contains a plurality of plated through holes(2a to 2f) having respective inner conductors(3a to 3f) formed thereon. An outer conductor(4) is formed on an exterior surface of the dielectric block(1). In the vicinity of first ends of the plated through holes(2a to 2f), inner-conductorless portions(33a to 33f) are provided, respectively, thus forming open ends of the resonant cavities. The rear end surface of the dielectric block at which the open ends of the plated through holes terminate is referred to as the open end face of the dielectric block.
