PURPOSE: An antibacterial urn is provided to completely prevent rottenness or deterioration of ashes due to bacterium, thus extending a storage period of the ashes and keeping a charnel house clean. CONSTITUTION: The antibacterial urn comprises ceramic made container(2) and a cover(3), and a coating liquid layer(4) is applied to the inner surfaces of the container and the cover. The coating liquid consists of alkaline water glass having a density of 10 to 40 percent and 0.01 to 3 weight percent of inorganic antibacterial agent. The inorganic antibacterial agent is selected among fluoric compound, silver compound and copper compound.
