PURPOSE: A monkey spanner is provided to prevent wear by restricting friction between an adjustable jaw and a slide rail of a fixed jaw and moving smoothly, and to restrict vibration of the adjustable jaw by fastening the adjustable jaw automatically. CONSTITUTION: A monkey spanner is composed of a body(10) having a handle(11), a fixed jaw(12), and a slide rail(13) placed near the end of the fixed jaw; an adjusting worm(21) mounted in the body and thread-connected to the adjustable jaw; and an adjustable jaw(30) installed in the slide rail and moved from or into the fixed jaw in rotating the adjusting worm. The adjustable jaw divides the slide rail into two parts, and compensating members are installed in the parts of the slide rail. The end of the compensating member is installed in the adjustable jaw and the other end is contacted to the body. Wear from friction between the adjustable jaw and the slide rail is prevented, and the adjustable jaw is fixed automatically.
