PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a used fuel storage member and a mixed powder are provided to achieve improved quality of the storage member, while simplifying manufacturing procedures and costs. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a used fuel storage member comprises the first step(S401 to S403) of mixing aluminum powder and neutron absorbing powder; the second step(S404) of shaping a preliminary form through a cold isostatic press(CIP) process; the third step(S405) of canning the preliminary form; the fourth step(S406) of sintering the preliminary form through a hot isostatic press(HIP) process; and the fifth step(S407 to S410) of producing billets by performing a milling process and a cutting process.
