PURPOSE: A settlement system by optical payment in a toll settlement system is provided to input card information in a wireless communication terminal such as a cellular phone or a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) and optically pay a toll using the wireless communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: An inlet side control unit(100) attaches an optical transceiver(104) to its suitable position of an entrance road, receives card information from an entrance car, transmits inlet entrance information, and records transaction items. An outlet side control unit(300) attaches an optical transceiver(306) at its suitable position of an entrance road, receives card information and inlet entrance information from the entrance car, calculates a toll to perform settlement, and records transaction items. A business office computer(200) receives the transaction items from the inlet side control unit(100) and the outlet side control unit(300), records the received transaction items, compares the recorded transaction items with the transaction items recorded in the inlet side control unit(100) and the outlet side control unit(300) per a uniform time, clears the transaction items recorded in the inlet side control unit(100) and the outlet side control unit(300) when the transaction items are identical to each other, and transmits the corresponding transaction items to a totalization server. A portable terminal optically transmits card information to the optical transceiver(104) of the inlet side entrance road, receives inlet entrance information, optically transmits card information and inlet entrance information to the optical transceiver(306) of the outlet side entrance, and receives the transaction items. The totalization server totalizes the transmitted transaction items, compares the totalized transaction items with the transaction items recorded in the business office computer(200), requests a collective admission of the totalized data when the transaction items are identical to each other, and clears the transaction items recorded in the business office computer(200). |
