PURPOSE: An automated teller machine is provided to continuously keep a good power transmission property thereof and secure a rapid response property by virtue of the selective engagement or separation of gears. CONSTITUTION: The automated teller machine comprises a frame(10), a paper money storage case, a discharge roller for discharging paper money one by one, a plurality of driving and driven rollers for transferring the paper money, a motor, and a clutch device(70) for selectively intercepting a rotating force of the motor to be transmitted to the discharge roller. The clutch device has a driving gear(40) rotated by using the rotating force of the motor with being supported by the frame, an idle gear(42) to be engaged with the driving gear, a discharge roller gear(44) fixed to a discharge roller shaft(34) so as to be engaged with the idle gear, and a transmission control device for selectively separating or coupling the idle gear with the discharge roller gear.
