PURPOSE: A rod glow plug is provided to mass-produce in a simple method and to use as a simplified rod glow plug or a measurement glow plug. CONSTITUTION: A rod glow plug with a plug body(7) and an internal heating rod(1) is composed of an electrically insulating shaped part(3) arranged between the heating rod and the plug body inside an area of a massed seat of the rod glow plug and firmly fixed to the heating rod, and a combustion space-side end(7a) of the plug body arranged inside the electrically insulating shaped part with being electrically insulated from the heating rod.
