PURPOSE: A modulating device for a second interleaving in a 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Projects) asynchronous system is provided to simultaneously support a multi-rate service and several physical channels in a multi-channel base station modem. CONSTITUTION: A second interleave memory unit(400) provides a memory necessary for a second interleaving and a physical channel mapping, and provides an interface between a codec(100) and a modulating unit(500). The modulating unit(500) having a plurality of modulators(510 to 510-N) for performing a physical channel mapping function, performing a DS(Direct Spreading) function, and performing a QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) modulation. A non-transport channel modulator(700) performs the modulation of common forward link physical channels prescribed in a 3GPP. A sector controller(600) generates output signals of the signals generated in the modulating unit(500) and the non-transport channel modulator(700) according to designated sectors, and transmits the generated output signals to a front end interface unit(200). |
