PURPOSE: To provide a light transmission plate for a liquid crystal display having a projecting and recessing pattern for reflection or for light diffusion, directly molded from a molten resin without generating a warp or deformation after molding and having the pattern of a reflection layer or of a light diffusion layer imparted with precise transferring. CONSTITUTION: The light transmission plate 30 is provided which is directly molded from the molten transparent resin, has the projecting and recessing pattern for the reflection or for the light diffusion on at least one surface, has <=9x10¬-6 birefringence in the thickness direction and further has >=(-3x10¬-6) and <=(+3x10¬-6) variance with respect to an average value in measuring birefringence at a plurality of positions in the thickness direction. The light transmission plate is manufactured by using a metallic mold with the projecting and recessing pattern attached on at least one surface, by injecting the molten transparent resin thereinto and by molding the resin. In this case, the projecting and recessing pattern of a metal cavity surface is transferred to a surface of a product with >=90% transfer rate and variance of the transfer rate can be controlled to be >=(-1%) and <=(+1%) with respect to an average value.
