PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to widen a repair space by a laser, thereby increasing the stability and the yield of repair. CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal display including data lines(32) providing data signals, gate lines(34) providing scan signals, pixel electrodes(52) for driving liquid crystal cells, thin film transistors switching the data signals to the pixel electrodes in response to the scan signals, the liquid crystal display includes repair patterns(54) formed by being insulated following at least one signal line of the data line and the gate; electrically connected with the signal line by irradiating an optical beam in repair; having at least one protrusion part having the width wider than a diameter of the optical beam.
