PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording carrier allowing a comparatively easy use number limit to information, to provide a manufacturing method therefor, and to provide a drive method and device for the recording carrier. SOLUTION: This recording carrier has a first area storing data required by a user using the drive device, and a second area set to a prescribed capacity such that the history information including the drive date and time and an identifier specific to the drive device can be recorded in the second area by a prescribed number of times. The drive method for driving the recording carrier by the drive device has a step for deciding whether the history information can be recorded in the second area or not, and a step for controlling drive of the first area on the basis of a result of the decision step. |
