<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that the contact state between a magnetic head and a tape is made unstable to reduce the output on the tape entrance side in a rotating drum device having a conventional constitution because of increase of the extent of tape floating in the vicinity of the head on the tape entrance side in the case that a thin tape runs on the rotating drum device rotating at a high speed. SOLUTION: A rotating drum device is constituted of a fixed drum 5 and a rotating drum 1 supporting a magnetic head 3, and four or more grooves 2 are formed in the outer peripheral surface of the rotating drum 1, and an interval (a) between the first and second grooves closest to the magnetic head 3, and an interval b between the second and third grooves, and intervals c between the third and following grooves satisfy a<b<c to improve the contact state between the magnetic head 3 and the tape on the tape entrance side.</p> |
