The fire door has a closure leaf and a linkage (2) to stop the leaf, controlled by an actuator, for movement about an axis (3). The linkage has a lever (6,7) fixed to an actuating cam (5) which rotates with respect to the closure around a second axis parallel to the first. The cam is held in a spaced position from the linkage by a fusible stop, which releases when the temperature reaches a defined level.
