PURPOSE: A power saving device for a mobile communication terminal is provided to previously prevent the unnecessary power waste of a power amplifier and increase a call time by controlling a mode of the power amplifier and simultaneously controlling a gain of a transmission amplifier according to a receiving level. CONSTITUTION: A receiving level detector(180) measures the strength of a receiving signal and detects a receiving level. A mobile station modem(190) controls a mode of a power amplifying unit(230) according to the receiving level outputted from the receiving level detector(180), and controls an amplification gain of a transmission IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal according to the receiving level. A transmission IF amplifier(200) amplifies the transmission IF according to the amplification gain outputted from the mobile station modem(190). An up-converter(210) converts the IF outputted from the transmission IF amplifier(200) into an RF(Radio Frequency). A transmission SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) filter(220) filters the transmission RF outputted from the up-converter(210). The power amplifying unit(230) converts a mode between a high gain mode and a low gain mode according to a mode control signal outputted from the mobile station modem(190), and amplifies the transmission RF outputted from the SAW filter(220). |
