PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can conduct effective smear correction without the need for a particular hardware configuration. SOLUTION: Exposures are carried out for a plurality of number of times at photometry before major photographing under different exposure conditions such as a shutter speed calculates data required smear correction in order to correct smear caused in a vertical transfer path as unnecessary electric charges by a strong incident light onto a photo diode in a CCD image pickup element data required for smear correction are calculated. |
