PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage changer capable of smoothly switching a step-up operation and a step-down operation. SOLUTION: The voltage changer is a device which changes the voltages of a capacitor 3 and a battery 4. FET 11 and FET 12 are connected in series with the positive terminal of the capacitor 3, and FET 13 and FET 14 are connected in series with the positive terminal of the battery 4. A coil 41 is connected between the junction pint between the FET 11 and the FET 12 and the junction point between the FET 13 and the FET 14. The operations of the FETs 11 to 14 are controlled by a controller 31 to continuously vary the duty ratio of switching of the FETs 11 to 14, and thereby the switching of the step-up operation and step-down operation is performed smoothly.
