PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective tiled display which generates an image appearing seamless to an observer. SOLUTION: This display has at least two sheets of tiles and a back plate. The two sheets of these tiles are formed in line, in the direction of one edge of each tile but are separated from each other; each tile has pixels, which generate light and can be activated with an electric field and has pixels away from edges which are formed in line; the back plate is aligned with the two sheets of tiles and has pixels, which are arranged so as to be positioned in the space of the tiles formed in line and which can be activated with electric fields; and when the pixels on the two sheets of tiles and the back plate are activated, a seamless image is generated.
