PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester-based false-twist combined filament yarn capable of giving fabrics having a combination of deep color tone, puffiness and dry touch as well as having natural grain-toned appearance and high stretchability. SOLUTION: This polyester-based false-twist combined filament yarn 9,000-230,000 in false-twist crimp index defined by the product of C-method elongation percent and C-method modulus is obtained by arranging in parallel side-by-side fashion polyester-based highly oriented undrawn filaments nondyeable with ionic dye 20×10<-3> to 80×10<-3> in birefringence (Δn) (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate filaments) and polyester-based highly oriented undrawn filaments dyeable with ionic dye (e.g. filaments of a copolyester made by copolymerizing 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate component with polyethylene terephthalate unit) followed by heat treatment substantially at constant length and then making a draw false twisting.
