PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having excellent quality while securing an exhaust passage for filling a discharge gas. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is equipped with a back substrate 1, plural discharge cells 4 formed by arranging them in a zigzag shape on the back substrate, plural barrier ribs 5 surrounding respective discharge spaces of the plural discharge cells, a phosphor film 7 formed on the inner wall surface of each barrier rib 5 and on the back substrate 1 inside the barrier plate, and a front substrate 2 disposed face to face with the back substrate 1 while having a discharge electrode 8 corresponding to the discharge cell 4. The barrier rib 5 is formed separately from other adjacent barrier ribs 5 surrounding the discharge cells 4, and its outline on a plan view is formed in a polygonal shape with number of sides more than that of a pentagon.
