PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the driving method of an image display, capable of performing correct gray shades display, without increasing a driving current to be applied to display elements or raising the luminance of a backlight. SOLUTION: This driving method performs gray shades display, by dividing one frame period into a plurality of sub-frame periods having equal intervals and by controlling lighting/non-lighting of display elements in a binary manner, in each sub-frame period and by controlling the frequency of the sub-frame periods to make the display elements go into states of lighting. |
