PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that informs a photographer about possibility of occurrence of a deteriorated image caused attending electronic zoom-up. SOLUTION: In the case of increasing a magnification of electronic zoom-up, a CPU 439 discriminates whether or not the number of pixels read from a CCD 214 after the electronic zoom-up is the number of pixels recorded in a memory card 424 or below. When the CPU 439 makes an affirmative discrimination, the CPU 439 transmits a command to an in-finder display circuit 440 to allow a display element 410 in a finder to make a warning display. The CPU 439 disregards a zoom-up operation signal from a zoom operation button 462 while a timer 445 counts one second in matching with the warning indication. Thus, the CPU 439 stops the electronic zoom-up for one second. The CPU 439 restarts the electronic zoom-up after a lapse of one second. |
