PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new thromboplastin reagent with high determination sensitivity. SOLUTION: By adding an effective amount of an amino acid or its derivative with the function of bringing the International Sensitivity Index(ISI) of a composition containing thromboplastin which shows an ISI larger than 1.0 close to 1.0, the thromboplastin reagent with high determination sensitivity is provided. To be concrete, the effective amount of the amino acid or its derivative is added so that a final concentration may become 0.01-20 W/V%, and the amino acid or its derivative is a glutamic acid, sodium glutamate, or glycine.
