PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a stable and easily handleable inulin preparation having excellent solubility and useful for the accurate, easy and quick determination of inulin clearance. SOLUTION: The method for producing an inulin-containing preparation comprises the addition of water to inulin at normal temperature, optional addition of an isotonicizing agent and the dissolution of the components by slowly heating the mixture to 60-110 deg.C spending >=10 min.
