PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the spatial efficiency of an engine room by efficiently installing auxiliary components such as electrical components and the like at a side of an intake device of an engine, to improve the mountability and demountability of the auxiliary components, and to reduce the number of components. SOLUTION: In the outboard motor wherein a four-cycle multi-cylinder engine is vertically loaded in a state that a crankshaft is directed to the vertical direction, and the intake device of the engine is provided with a surge tank mounted at a crank case side, and an intake pipe for several cylinders approximately horizontally extended from the surge tank and respectively connected to intake ports of cylinder heads through one side of the cylinder block, an intermediate part of the intake pipe 21 is formed into the shape of a straight pipe to be placed approximately in parallel to a side face of the cylinder block 12, an auxiliary component installation space 53 is created between the intake pipe 21 and the cylinder block 12, and the auxiliary component is placed on a part at the cylinder block 12 side of the intake pipe 21, so that it is positioned in the auxiliary component installation space 53. |
