PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device having a position sensor mounted oppositely to an edge on the opposite side of an irradiating means to allow the light ray from the irradiating means to enter into the position sensor for detecting the position of the sheet recording medium, and correcting the position of the sheet recording medium when the position is inadequate, in order to prevent the unevenness in scanning of the sheet recording medium and the damage of an edge part, and to inexpensively prevent the skew of the sheet recording medium with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The position sensor 12 is mounted at a side opposite to the irradiating means 16 in a state of being faced to at least one of edge parts 14a of the sheet recording medium 14, for receiving the light ray 12 emitted from the irradiating means 16 and detecting the position of the edge part 14a, and the position of the recording medium 14 is corrected by the feeding means 18 so that the sheet recording medium 14 can be conveyed to a proper position, when the position of the sheet recording medium 14 detected by the position sensor 12 is inadequate.
