PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly start an auxiliary compressor without stopping whole a gas turbine. SOLUTION: The auxiliary compressor starter starting the auxiliary compressor in stopping of a regular compressor is provided with a discharge side isolation valve provided in discharge side piping between the auxiliary compressor and a branch point between the regular compressor and the discharge side piping of the auxiliary compressor, and a switching means supplying a random one of discharge gas of the regular compressor or discharge gas of the auxiliary compressor to a shaft seal device of the auxiliary compressor as seal gas. When the regular compressor is operating, the isolation valve of the auxiliary compressor is closed, and the switching means is switched so that a part of the discharge gas of the regular compressor is supplied to a shaft seal device of the regular compressor and the shaft seal device of the auxiliary compressor as the seal gas. When the regular compressor is stopped, the isolation valve of the auxiliary compressor is opened, the auxiliary compressor is started, and the switching means is switched so that a part of the discharge gas of the auxiliary compressor is supplied to the auxiliary compressor as the seal gas.
