PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a char-cooling equipment for gasification facilities, which can prevent bridging of a large mass of char. SOLUTION: In a char-cooling equipment 1b for gasification facilities, which gasifys a carbonaceous material in a gasification furnace and a thermal cracking furnace provided therein, separates the gas generated in the gasification furnace and the thermal cracking furnace into a char and a gas at a high temperature in a solid-gas separating device, and cools the char thus-separated by heat- transfer tubes 1b arranged in the char-cooling equipment 1, openings for blowing the gas into the interior of the char-cooling equipment are provided on the side wall of the char-cooling equipment, and a gas blowing equipment is provided, which blows the gas intermittently in the horizontal direction from the openings 3.
