摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for metal airtight vessel producible of a metal airtight vessel with a specific shape without causing remaining tensile stress and strain due to welding. SOLUTION: In producing a canister, a pair of half cylinders 40 consisting of a metal are welded to form a cylindrical shell 14 and then, each welding part 40a in the shell are shot-blasted simultaneously from both of the inside surface and the outside surface of the shell. Then, the bottom wall 42 is welded to one end of the shell to form a vessel body 12, and the welding part 42a between the shell and the bottom wall is shot-blasted from the outer surface of the vessel body. Next, after containing radioactive materials in the vessel body, a primary lid and a secondary lid are welded in turn on the upper opening of the vessel body to seal the vessel body.
