PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that since a recessed arc-like bent deformation is formed on the side of the approach route of a conveyor belt to convey articles along an inside guide rail, and the return route side guide plate is also formed into a recessed arc-like shape, a belt runs with the bent deformation not reformed sufficiently at both end sections in the belt width direction, and both ends of a return route conveyor belt and a return route side guide plate contact each other, resulting in the generation of conveyance resistance. SOLUTION: In a belt conveyor device provided with nearly cylindrical or arc-like guide plates 11 and 12, flexible conveyor belts 21 and 22 which run in a curved shape along the inner peripheral face of the guide plates 11 and 12, and blowers 51 and 52 to make the conveyor belt 21 and 22 levitate by supplying pressurized gas between the guide plates and the conveyor belts, the shape of the return route side guide plate 11 comprises a part near the lowest point of the return route side guide plate 12 formed into a cylindrical shape or recessed arc shape, and a part 13 near the portion which contacts both ends of the return side belt 22 formed into a projected arc shape.
