摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a catalyst layer of an electrode of a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell and to improve performance thereof by supporting a catalyst metal with conductive carbon particles in a fine particle-line form and thereby increasing the specific surface area of the catalyst metal. SOLUTION: A mutual action between a noble metal and the conductive carbon particles is enhanced and the specific surface area of the noble metal is increased by allowing the residence of a functional group configurable to the noble metal between the conductive carbon particles and the catalyst noble metal. A compound having the functional group configurable to the catalyst metal is bound to the surfaces of the conductive carbon particles or catalyst metal particles, and thereafter the catalyst particles are supported with the conductive carbon particles, so that the conductive carbon particles supporting the catalyst are provided.</p>
