A submarine vessel comprises at least one hull unit resistant to external pressure and having the general shape of an annular torus. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 6 the unit is made up of sections or segments 48 to 65 each having the shape of a sphere. The segments 48 and 49 constitute a pressurized chamber for divers or oceanauts. Other segments constitute a compartment 73 for instruments, a cabin 75, observation posts 79 and 83, and a piloting station 81. Horizontal and vertical propulsion is provided by propellers 94, 96 and 98 respectively. The hull is provided with a casing that houses equipment including an auxiliary hull 88 formed of portions of spheres and housing generating set 90 and an air compressor. In Figs. 7 and 8 the toric hull unit 112 has connected therewith via lock chambers 116, 124, a pressurized chamber 114 and evacuation or escape sphere 122 respectively. |
