PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strike for a slide latch without making any unpleasant sounds, when the strike is engaged with a latch piece. SOLUTION: The strike for the slide latch includes a vertical square back plate 21, an upper side member 22 formed of an upper plate 22a projected horizontally forward, from the upper end side of the back plate 21 and a vertical downward plate 22b from the front end of the upper plate 22a, a lower side member 23 formed of a lower plate 23a projected to a forward horizontal from the lower end side of the back plate 21 and a vertical upward plate 23b from the front end of the lower plate 23a, a housing 2 forming an approximately hand drum longitudinal section shaped space section between the lower edge of the downward plate and the upper edge of the upward plate 23b, a vertical square front plate 31, a square upper plate 32 projected to a backward horizontal from the upper end side of the front plate 31, a square lower plate 33 projected to a backward horizontal from the lower end side of the front plate 31, a fiat projection 34 slightly projected to the central part between both right and left of the front plate 31 and an inner cover 3 of an elastic material, formed of the upper edge and the lower edge of the projection 34, into a shape of an approximately hand drum longitudinal section.
