PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of forming a thermal radiant coating having little deviation in its composition and uniform emissivity of thermal radiation when forming it on the inner wall surface of a cathode sleeve, and also capable of simultaneously coating the inner surfaces of plural cathode sleeves. SOLUTION: When stickedly forming the thermal radiant coating on the inner wall surface of the cathode sleeve composing a part of a thermion emitting cathode, after coating a material composed of a thermal radiant coating substance on the surface of a metallic wire, the metallic wire is inserted through an opening part of the cylindrical cathode sleeve, and the thermal radiant coating material coated on the metallic wire by heating the metallic wire by energizing it is deposited on the inner wall surface of the cathode sleeve.
