PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide device furnished with a branch at which a transmission loss is small and to provide an effective method for manufacturing the device. SOLUTION: The optical waveguides 14a and 14b, which are branched at a branched part 13 for multiplexing or branching light, are separated from each other with branch banks 18a to 18c, the width and the height thereof are gradually increasing from A-section to C-section in the process of the branching at the branched part 13. |
