PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio providing device for electronic program guide and its audio receiver that can respond to a high desire of viewers, select audio among a plurality of audio data, specify an audio area and give guidance to the viewer as to contents of a program. SOLUTION: This invention provides the audio providing device 1 for an electronic program guide that provides the electronic program guide displayed on a receiver side screen in audio, is provided with a storage means 3 that stores audio data generated based on a plurality of audio data as to each item of the electronic program guide, a category designation means that designates a category of the audio data in the storage means for transmission of the data to the receiver side, and an output means that transmits the audio data designated by the category designation means to the receiver side.
