PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for monitoring an interval between a first injection process and a second injection process in a fuel cycle in one cylinder for an internal combustion engine, where individual injection processes are controlled by electric operation elements. SOLUTION: The method comprises detecting whether the operation elements 12, 13 are completely opened or not after the first injection process and detecting whether conduction sequences 27, 28 for the electric operation elements 12, 13 in the first injection process and current sequences in the second injection process are overlapped with each other or not, and changing an interval ([t9-t2]) when the electric operation elements 12, 13 are not completely opened after the first injection process or when the conduction sequences for the electric operation elements 12, 13 are overlapped.
