PURPOSE: An electronic wallet service method is provided to enable a user to perform a payment or a financial transaction process at a user terminal, for example, a PDA(Personal Data Assistant) or a smart phone by using an instant messenger. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of an instant messenger server receiving a request of an electronic wallet messenger installation from a user(S201), the instant messenger server transmitting the requested electronic wallet messenger installation data to a user terminal(S202), an electronic wallet authentication server receiving user registration data and an electronic wallet authentication request from the user terminal(S203), the electronic wallet authentication server processing the authentication request(S204), the electronic wallet authentication server allocating an authentication number to the user(S205), the user requesting to a service system a financial transaction process such as a value deposit, a value transfer, a payment, or a value restoration via an instant messenger(S206), the service system processing the requested financial transaction under the authentication of the electronic wallet authentication server(S207), and the service system transmitting the financial transaction result to the user via the instant messenger(S208).
