The displacement control method of a load (15) suspended by a cable (27) from a carriage (28) on a gantry horizontal jib (23) with a control cabin (20) consists in installing the cabin to move horizontally on the jib. The load displacement is automatically controlled from the control cabin. A constant distance (D) is maintained on the jib between the load position and the control cabin position and a constant angle is kept of the load position relative to the cabin.
