PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calculation method which can secure rational and economical pole design, etc., even in the case of a self-supporting wire. SOLUTION: This calculation method of a wind pressure load calculates a wind pressure load applied to a wire (cable 3) by using a wire height H. If the wire (cable 3) is a self-supporting wire comprising a supporting wire (supporting cable 3a) and a supported wire (supported cable 3b) supported by the supporting wire (supporting cable 3a) via slits 4, rather than the wire height H of the wire (cable 3), the sum D of the outer diameters of the support wire (support cable 3a) and the supported wire (supported cable 3b) is used for the calculation.
