PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pest-controlling agent comprising a tropolone compound and a porous substance and markedly improved in both sustainability and light stability. SOLUTION: This pest-controlling agent comprises a porous substance borne with a tropolone compound, being characterized by having, on the surface of the porous substance, at least one oxide structure selected from the group consisting of (A) phenolic hydroxy group, (B) carboxy group, (C) γ-lactone, (D) δ-lactone, (E) carbonyl group or quinone group, (F) carboxylic acid anhydride and (G) a composite oxide of silicone dioxide and a metal oxide.
