PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system that can surely disconnect an electric appliance from a communication network after monitoring control and a state of the electric appliance so as to save an access charge and standby power. SOLUTION: The remote control system 2 monitoring operation control and a state of the electric appliance is configured with a Web server 3 that controls the electric appliance 1 in response to input information from a communication terminal 8 via the Internet 7, and a communication controller 4 that connects/disconnects the Web server 2 to/from the Internet 7, the communication controller 4 includes a timer section 11 that counts an access time to the Internet 7 and a control section 14 that interrupts the Web server 3 from the Internet 7 when the access time reaches a prescribed time.
