A device for automatically supplying disposable tube sections to a permanent pipette tube 21 (Fig. 4), when said permanent tube is reciprocated into and out of the leading member of a group (T, Fig. 2) of said disposable tube sections, comprises said group of tube sections (each having the same length and with their axes parallel and their corresponding ends in register) attached to a tape 24 which is conveyed through a passageway (the front side of which is is shown at 27 in Fig. 4) into a terminal position (at the righthand side), means to facilitate the disengagement of the tape (opening inside 27 having lip 33) and means (rotable spindle 34) to apply tension to the tape and move the tubes sequentially into said terminal position. As shown in said Figures, the tape with the tubes attached is preferably contained in a magazine in the form of a roll, and as illustrated in Fig. 1 (not shown) the magazine is tilted to co-operate with a reciprocating pipette device similar to that described and claimed in Specification 1,105,844. A preferred feature comprises the bracket 38 having a slot 40 which co-operates with pin 41 attached to the pipette tube assembly and by means of which the permanent pipette tube and the disposable pipette tube in the terminal position may be brought into accurate alignment. |
