PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a liquid crystal display device by reducing the number of components and simplifying the structure. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel PNL, a lower case LCA housing a backlight BL disposed on the lower side of the liquid crystal display panel PNL, an intermediate frame MFR mounted on the lower case LCA and supporting the liquid crystal display panel PNL, a light diffusion plate SPB held in the intermediate frame MFR and a metal shielding case SHD covering the periphery of the display area on the liquid crystal display panel PNL. The metal shielding case SHD has a hook formed thereon and the metal shielding case SHD is fixed to the lower case LCA by hooking the hook on a protrusion formed on the lower case LCA.
